Just an interesting photo taken @home…using a DSLR with a true macro (1:1) lens.
Keep in mind that most people do not require a DSLR. It is cumbersome, requires time, effort and practice to get good results. It is also very expensive to manage and maintain compared to Point & Shoots.
The lens for a DSLR are expensive as also any related gear. You will probably spend upwards of $1000-2000 US just to match the focal length range a modern P&S can offer at no additional cost.
More details on all of this in a while…till I complete writing the first post for this series.
